QUEER PILATES — STUDIO RENTAL AGREEMENT

OVERVIEW
This agreement covers independent use of the Queer Pilates studio by Pilates apprentices and professionals.
Renting space at Queer Pilates does not create an employment, independent contractor, partnership, or agency relationship with Queer Pilates. Renters operate independently and are responsible for their own teaching, clients, business practices, taxes, scheduling, and pricing.
ELIGIBILITY & ONBOARDING
Before independent studio access is approved, renters must complete the Queer Pilates onboarding process and provide:
Proof of identity
Proof of current Pilates teacher training or professional Pilates work history
Proof of current professional liability insurance
A copy of the waiver used with their own clients, if teaching clients
A studio orientation and equipment safety review
Queer Pilates reserves the right to approve or decline rental access.
INSURANCE
Renters must maintain professional liability insurance while using the studio, with minimum coverage of $1 million per occurrence / $2 million aggregate.
Before independent studio use begins, Queer Pilates must be listed as an additional insured on the renter's policy. Updated proof of insurance may be requested when a policy renews or changes.
CLIENTS & TEACHING
Renters teaching clients at Queer Pilates are solely responsible for their own instruction and professional decisions.
Renters set their own rates, manage their own client relationships and payments, and are responsible for maintaining appropriate signed waivers and releases for every client they bring into the studio.
Clients may not use the studio or equipment without their instructor present.
Apprentice Practice Teaching is intended for individuals currently completing Pilates teacher training and may be used to complete practice-teaching hours.
STUDIO & ROOM USE
Your booking reserves the space indicated in your reservation.
Room rentals reserve the selected room. Another renter, instructor, or client may be using another room in the studio at the same time.
Whole Studio Rentals provide privacy from other renter and client sessions and are required for duets. No other renter or client session will be scheduled during that time. I may still be present elsewhere in the studio, including working in the office behind a closed door.
Self-practice is for the approved renter only. Casual guests are not permitted. Clients may be brought into the studio only as part of an appropriate teaching rental.
Renters may use Pilates apparatus and shared props appropriate to their training and experience. Equipment must be used safely and only for its intended purpose.
SESSION TIME, CLEANING & RESET
Rental sessions are 60 minutes. The reserved time includes setup, teaching or practice, cleaning, and resetting the space.
Renters must finish their session, clean, reset, and leave the reserved space within their scheduled time. Late arrival does not extend a reservation.
Equipment and shared props must be returned to their proper locations and surfaces cleaned as directed during onboarding.
Personal equipment and props must be removed after each visit unless prior storage arrangements have been made.
Please report damaged or malfunctioning equipment promptly and do not continue using equipment that appears unsafe.
Renters are financially responsible for repair or replacement of equipment or other studio property damaged through misuse, negligence, or failure to follow studio procedures. Normal wear and tear is not the renter's responsibility.
STUDIO ACCESS & SECURITY
Studio access is personal to the approved renter and may not be shared.
Renters may not allow another instructor or other unauthorized person to use their access credentials, keys, or reservation.
Renters are responsible for following studio entry, exit, and locking procedures. Exterior-building keys and studio access remain the property of Queer Pilates and must be returned or discontinued when rental access ends.
SHARED SPACE & CONDUCT
Queer Pilates is a shared professional environment. Renters are expected to respect other instructors, clients, neighbors, and people using other areas of the studio.
Music, voices, and other noise must be kept at a reasonable level, particularly when another room is occupied.
Harassment, discrimination, threatening behavior, or conduct that creates an unsafe environment is not permitted.
BOOKING & RATES
Rental rates and available hours are shown in Momence and may change with notice. Payment is due at booking.
All rentals are subject to the Queer Pilates Scheduling, Cancellation & Lateness Policy in effect at the time of booking.
Studio availability is not guaranteed, and Queer Pilates may adjust rental availability as the needs of the studio change.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK & RESPONSIBILITY
Pilates and exercise involve inherent risks. Renters accept responsibility for their own use of the studio and equipment and for providing safe, appropriate instruction to their clients.
Renters are responsible for determining whether an exercise, apparatus, or activity is appropriate for themselves and their clients and for working within their education, experience, and professional scope.
To the extent permitted by law, renters assume responsibility for claims, injuries, losses, or damages arising from their own teaching, conduct, clients, negligence, or misuse of the studio or equipment.
SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION OF RENTAL ACCESS
Queer Pilates reserves the right to suspend or terminate rental access at any time.
Reasons may include, but are not limited to, unsafe equipment use, failure to maintain required insurance or client waivers, nonpayment, repeated failure to clean or reset the studio, unauthorized sharing of studio access, inappropriate conduct, or violation of this agreement.
Studio access, keys, and other access credentials must be returned or discontinued when rental privileges end.
AGREEMENT
